🌍 Today is World NTD Day!
Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) affect over 1.6 billion people, mostly in underserved communities. Yet NTDs are largely preventable, treatable and, in many cases, can be eliminated altogether. Too often seen as a distant challenge, the fight against tropical diseases is also highly relevant for Germany: Health challenges do not stop at borders, and neither does responsibility.

"The fight against NTDs is therefore not just a medical issue. It is a question of dignity, justice, and global responsibility. It is also a question of German interests and responsibility in an interconnected world." – Sascha van Beek, MdB, Chairman of the German Parliamentary Advisory Council on Neglected Tropical Diseases.

Public and global health is a diverse and dynamic field with constantly evolving conditions and demands. Professionals are often faced with important career decisions and questions about future directions. Exchange and networking with others can support professional development, decision-making, and orientation. For this reason, the Mentoring Programme of the Working Group “Career Pathways” of the Young Professionals Network for Public Health (NÖG) is launching its next round after several successful years.
They warmly invite you to take part in the programme as a mentee (seeking guidance) or as a mentor (offering guidance). Applications for both roles are also possible.
From April to October 2026, the programme offers a structured one-to-one exchange between mentor and mentee over a period of six months, including approximately five online meetings. The kick-off meeting will take place in April (further details to follow).
Mentor–mentee matching will be based on professional experience, areas of specialisation, and interests, collected via a questionnaire.
👉 If you would like to participate, please complete the relevant questionnaire by 15 February 2026:
Register as a mentee: https://ee-eu.kobotoolbox.org/x/SfpN1gox
Register as a mentor: https://ee-eu.kobotoolbox.org/x/lvliopjZ
