The Master of Global Urban Health (MSc GUH) programme, in collaboration with the Centre for Planetary Health (CPH), is organising an International Symposium on Planetary Aspects of Urban Health, to be held on September 25 – 26, 2025, at the University of Freiburg.

The event will explore the intersections of planetary health, including the environment, climate, urban health and global sustainability, featuring expert discussions and offering valuable networking opportunities with health professionals, master alumni and students from around the world.

🥪 As part of European Public Health Week, taking place this week, the Public Health and Public Service section of the German Society for Public Health (DGPH) is hosting a series of lunch sessions. You can find the full program in this flyer: https://t1p.de/wxprp

On Friday, the lunch session will be held in cooperation with the DGPH Student Section and the Young Professionals Network for Public Health. Staff members from the public health service will share their career paths after graduation and provide insights into their daily work.

GLOHRA Day 2025 is the fifth annual symposium of the German Alliance for Global Health Research (GLOHRA) intending to bring together members of the community and facilitate exchange on research and policy topics relevant to global health research. All GLOHRA members from all disciplines and career stages are warmly invited to dedicate a day in summer to global health and connect with the community.

This in-person side event, jointly hosted by International SOS, the World Health Organization Foundation (WHOF), GIZ, and private sector partners including Sanofi and ENI, brings together key actors to explore the evolving role of the private sector in global health. The session will focus on aligning business objectives with public health goals and fostering impactful cross-sector collaboration.

Discussions will delve into how public-private partnerships can bridge critical funding gaps, ensure continuity in essential health services, and scale innovative solutions. Participants will also engage in dialogue around best practices, strategic approaches to common challenges, and opportunities for collaboration that promote sustainable, community-centered impact.

This event serves as a platform for meaningful exchange between public and private stakeholders, with the goal of accelerating progress toward shared health and development objectives.

Save the Children and Women in Global Health will co-host a high-level side event during the 78th World Health Assembly, titled "Adapting for Impact: Health, Equality, and Rights in an Era of Uncertainty." This in-person panel discussion will take place at the Warwick Hotel, Geneva. A light breakfast will be served at 7:30 AM, with the formal program beginning at 8:00 AM.

Bringing together global health leaders, youth advocates, and civil society representatives, this 90-minute session will explore how the global community can adapt to today’s challenges—ranging from resource constraints to shifting power dynamics—while continuing to advance progress on health, gender equality, and human rights.

Featured speakers include representatives from the African Union Commission, WHO, UNITE Parliamentarians Network, and civil society organizations. The conversation will be moderated by Dr. Magda Robalo, Interim Executive Director of Women in Global Health.
