    The United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA), through its Division for Public Institutions and Digital Government (DPIDG) and the UN Project Office on Governance (UNPOG), in collaboration with the Ministry of the Interior and Safety of the Republic of Korea and Incheon Metropolitan City, will host the 9th Regional Symposium on Effective Governance and AI Transformation.

    Under the theme “Strengthening Institutions through Technology and Innovation for SDG Acceleration”, the Symposium will bring together policymakers, public sector leaders, technology innovators, and development experts from across Asia, the Pacific, and beyond to explore how artificial intelligence and institutional innovation can help build inclusive, future-ready governance for the 2030 Agenda.

    Time: 09:00 – 18:00 | (Seoul (GMT+9)

    Key objectives include:

    • Promoting institutional innovation for inclusive AI transformation and better public service delivery.
    • Advancing ethical and responsible AI systems.
    • Identifying strategies for skilling, upskilling, and retaining public sector talent in the AI era.
    • Showcasing youth-led and local governance models for SDG progress.
    • Applying behavioural science and foresight tools to anticipate governance challenges.

    The programme will feature high-level panels, thematic sessions, and knowledge-sharing opportunities on topics such as AI governance, community innovation, generative AI in the public sector, and the role of youth in public service.

    🍂 Fall School 2025: Understanding Heterogeneity in Cardiology


    The Institute for Gender in Medicine (GiM) of the Charité is organizing a Fall School on “Understanding Heterogeneity in Cardiology,” open to doctoral candidates and students. The program addresses the gender data gap in clinical research, exploring innovative strategies for gender-sensitive medicine through a mix of theoretical input, methodological training, and patients’ perspectives.


    ✨ With funding from the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), participation is free of charge. Limited support for travel, accommodation, and meals is available. Successful completion will be recognized with 2.65 ECTS credits, and participants will benefit from direct exchange with leading national and international experts.

    The Global Health Academy will host an interactive two-day workshop for doctoral and postdoctoral researchers on the responsible conduct of science in global health research. Participants will engage in expert-led discussions and collaborative activities, including a session at the United Nations University on the UN Campus Bonn.

    The program will address:

    • Good scientific practice and ethics: respect, integrity, equity, sustainability, environmental impacts, and reflection on power and positionality.
    • Human rights in global health: gender equality, intersectionality, and barriers to progress.
    • Ideologies and context: the influence of historical and political ideologies such as Cold War legacies, authoritarianism, and global capitalism on research.

    Insights from the workshop will help shape a self-paced online training program to be launched in 2026 via the new GLOHRA Training Platform.

    The upcoming GLOHRA Academy Series session will feature Dr. Isabel Mank from the German Institute for Development Evaluation (DEval). She will present insights from the evaluation of German development cooperation in the field of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR).


    Her talk will explore how interventions address maternal and neonatal mortality, unsafe abortions, and gender-based violence in partner countries such as Malawi and Togo. Drawing on a method-integrative approach that combines country case studies with secondary data analysis, Dr. Mank will discuss the effectiveness and strategic relevance of Germany’s development policy and how evidence-based evaluation can foster more coherent, rights-based cooperation in SRHR.


    The GLOHRA Academy Series takes place every first Tuesday of the month, offering a 30-minute presentation followed by a 30-minute Q&A for interactive exchange.
