This course conveys general concepts, and principles of human rights approaches within the health sector to “leave no one behind” – which has become even more relevant in times of US financial withdrawal. The course combines theoretical knowledge with practical application through case studies and examples by health advocates who have engaged in human rights advocacy for decades.

Course participants will gain a deeper understanding of human rights and the right to health, Global Health and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the WHO pandemic agreement and intellectual property rights in the context of access to medicines. The right to health will be discussed in the field of gender, disability, migration, drug use and detention through expert inputs, exchanges with affected people and through country case studies. It is also envisaged to visit a local refugee centre in order to gain practical insights into the right to health for refugees.

In celebration of Europe Day, the EU Office of TU Berlin, in cooperation with the EU Office of the BMBF (DLR Project Management Agency), invites early-career researchers to a two-day online event:
"Horizon Europe for Beginners."


The training provides a comprehensive introduction to the EU Framework Programme for Research and Innovation – Horizon Europe (2021–2027). Participants will gain insight into the programme’s structure, funding opportunities, target groups, and the full application process. The sessions include practical tips, research tools, and guidance on support structures.


The programme will be enriched by a firsthand account from a successful applicant and an overview of Open Science services (including open access publishing and data management) at TU Berlin.
