🧬 The Robert-Koch-Institute (RKI) is looking for a Scientific Researcher (d/m/w) to join its Surveillance & Vaccination Coverage Monitoring team in Berlin.

📍 Location: Berlin (Seestraße 10), hybrid — up to 50% mobile work
💼 Employment: Full-time, 39 hours/week
📅 Start date: 1 November 2026
⏳ Contract: Fixed-term, up to 36 months; the exact duration depends on individual eligibility under the German Act on Temporary Scientific Contracts (WissZeitVG)

🔬 Main responsibilities
Prepare, analyse and publish vaccination and surveillance data, including health-insurance/KV billing data, survey data and case-based surveillance data. Evaluate the impact of Germany’s measles vaccination documentation requirement introduced in 2020. Contribute to the further development of vaccination coverage monitoring and KV-based vaccination surveillance. Take responsibility for surveillance and vaccination topics relating to at least one vaccine-preventable pathogen. Produce scientific reports and publications.

🎓 Profile
University degree (Master/Diploma/State Examination) in Medicine, Epidemiology, Public Health, Health Sciences or a comparable field. Additional qualification specialising in epidemiology (e.g. MSc, FETP, PAE, EPIET or EIS); PhD is an advantage. Several years of experience in epidemiological evaluation of health interventions and/or working with large healthcare databases. Advanced knowledge of statistics, causal inference and statistical software such as R or Stata. Experience publishing in international scientific journals. German and English at minimum C1 level.

Desirable: vaccination monitoring/surveillance experience, time-to-event or vaccine-effectiveness analyses, survey/case-based surveillance data and basic SQL knowledge. Strong organisational, communication, initiative and teamwork skills.
