The Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine (BNITM) in Hamburg is seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Researcher (m/f/d) in clinical implementation research 🧪. The position is part of the “Neglected Diseases and Envenoming” research group, focusing on improving inpatient care, particularly for snakebite envenoming, and advancing Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) in Africa and Southeast Asia 🌍.

Key tasks include planning and conducting international research studies, analysing scientific data, publishing results, coordinating fieldwork abroad, acquiring third-party funding, and supervising students and PhD candidates 📊✍️. The role also involves project management responsibilities, including budget and personnel oversight, and collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.

Applicants should hold an MD or PhD in Medicine, Epidemiology, Public Health, or a related field, with experience in quantitative data analysis (e.g. R or Stata), scientific publishing, and study design. Interest in global health and willingness to travel (approx. 2 months/year) are essential ✈️. Strong English skills are required; German or French is a plus.
