The Medical Faculty OWL, Bielefeld University seeks a physician-scientist to coordinate and develop **problem-oriented learning (POL)** in the human medicine model curriculum. The position is embedded in the Department of General and Family Medicine, which connects university medicine with primary care and focuses on teaching, clinical and health services research, especially for patients with chronic and multiple conditions.

🩺 key responsibilities

* Teaching (25%): conduct classes, assess student work and exams
* POL coordination & curriculum development (40%):

* Develop and revise POL cases, align learning objectives, coordinate module content
* Conduct literature research and support tutor training & evaluation
* Integrate interprofessional and interdisciplinary curriculum elements
* Design innovative, clinically relevant teaching including e-learning
* Teaching research (30%):

* Conduct research in medical education
* Support acquisition, planning, and execution of projects (incl. third-party funding)
* Present at conferences and publish findings
* Administration (5%): support academic qualification, self-management, team cooperation

🎓 profile requirements

* Medical degree with physician license
* At least one year of specialty training (preferably in General or Internal Medicine)
* Knowledge of medical didactics and willingness to pursue further training
* Fluent in German and English
* Experience with POL or problem-based learning formats, e-learning, blended learning
* Team-oriented, structured, and self-driven

* Board-certified physician (General or Internal Medicine) or near completion of training
* Teaching experience at universities, MED-ed certifications (e.g., LAMA, Master of Medical Education)
* Experience in teaching research, academic publications, and train-the-trainer programs
