PhD Position: Social Science of Vector-Borne Diseases | CRID (Cameroon) | Application deadline: 30 Nov 2025

A new PhD position is open at the Centre for Research in Infectious Diseases (CRID) in Yaoundé, Cameroon, as part of the EU-funded IMPACTING consortium led by icipe (Kenya). The role focuses on social science research related to vector-borne disease (VBD) control in Cameroon and Kenya. 🌍🦟

The PhD candidate will design and conduct participatory social science studies, lead qualitative data collection and analysis (FGDs, KIIs, community workshops), co-develop community-based VBD surveillance strategies, pilot digital engagement tools, and integrate gender- and age-sensitive insights to support equitable and scalable disease-control approaches. 💬📊

Applicants must hold a Master’s degree in a relevant field (Sociology, Anthropology, Public Health, Development Studies, Environmental Health, etc.) and have strong skills in qualitative research, protocol development, and tools such as NVivo. Women are strongly encouraged to apply. ✨
