Resolve to Save Lives (RTSL) is seeking a Principal Advisor to lead its Surveillance and Digital Architecture and Governance workstream within the Prevent Epidemics program. The role focuses on strengthening digital health architecture, data governance, and surveillance systems across partner countries — including Ethiopia, Mozambique, Nigeria, and Zambia.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead strategic direction and implementation of the surveillance and digital architecture portfolio.
• Manage a team (3+ direct reports) and coordinate cross-workstream collaboration.
• Oversee digital systems mapping, governance frameworks, and data policy development.
• Support country-level capacity building and partnership engagement.
• Liaise with RTSL’s Public Health Legal and Governance teams and represent RTSL in global forums.
Profile Requirements
• Advanced degree in Public Health, Informatics, Data Science, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in digital health, data governance, or public health surveillance, ideally in African contexts.
• Proven team and program management experience, including budgeting and stakeholder engagement.
• Deep understanding of data systems, interoperability, AI trends, and data governance ethics.
• Strong leadership, collaboration, and mentoring skills.
• Fluency in English; Portuguese or French desirable.
