The German Red Cross (DRK) Headquarters is hiring a Scientific Associate in the Security Research & Innovation Transfer Team, focusing on crisis preparedness and disaster care innovation.
📍 Location: Berlin | 🕓 Full-time | ⏳ Fixed-term until 31 October 2027 (extension desired)
đź§ About the Role:
You will lead the DRK sub-project within a third-party funded research consortium focused on developing tech-driven solutions for crisis response, specifically teleguided care for vulnerable populations in disaster scenarios. Tasks include:
• Conducting qualitative and quantitative research
• Designing strategic concepts and simulations
• Project management (budgeting, reporting, milestone tracking)
• Stakeholder coordination and knowledge transferSupporting internal research and grant applications
👤 Your Profile:
• Master’s degree (e.g. in crisis management, engineering, psychology, sociology)
• Experience in research or project management, ideally third-party funded projects
• Strong skills in qualitative & quantitative methods
• Knowledge of civil protection or humanitarian aid structures is a plus
• Ability to work independently, think analytically, and communicate with diverse stakeholders
• Willingness to travel and occasionally work weekends
