🔍 About the Role
The German Red Cross (DRK) is looking for a Grant Manager to coordinate and oversee Global Project I within its International Cooperation division. The position focuses on managing projects funded by institutional donors (notably the German Federal Foreign Office), ensuring quality standards, supporting audits, and liaising with partners across humanitarian and development cooperation.
This is a parental leave cover position, based in Berlin, and tied to a dynamic, mission-driven team supporting DRK’s global humanitarian and development work.

🛠️ Key Responsibilities
• Coordinate and monitor individual sub-projects under the Global Project I framework.
• Consolidate project data for internal and external reporting.
• Liaise with the German Federal Foreign Office, including organizing steering committee meetings.
• Train and brief teams on donor guidelines and formats.
• Ensure compliance with donor and internal DRK procedures.
• Support external audits and evaluations in coordination with finance colleagues.
• Draft policy statements and presentations on Global Project I developments.
• Represent DRK in donor forums and working groups.
• Foster collaboration with other humanitarian organizations on institutional donor matters.
• Manage internal knowledge and communications related to the project.

✅ Your Profile
• Relevant university degree (e.g., in international relations, development studies, public administration).
• In-depth knowledge of German institutional donors, especially the Federal Foreign Office (AA), and ideally experience with European donors.
• Proven experience in project proposal writing and reporting for donor-funded programs.
• Strong financial and project management skills (especially for AA and BMZ-funded work).
• Familiarity with the Red Cross/Red Crescent Movement is an asset.
• Excellent analytical, coordination, and organizational skills.
• Fluent in English, ideally with good French or Spanish skills.
• Willingness to travel abroad; tropical health fitness required.
