The role focuses on advancing sustainable health financing and contributing to achieving Universal Health Coverage through systems strengthening, global health governance, and strategic partnerships.

🔧 Key Responsibilities:
• Provide strategic and on-demand advisory support to BMZ on health financing, UHC, and health systems strengthening.
• Draft strategic analyses, policy briefs, speaking notes, and concept papers in German and English.
• Coordinate BMZ’s participation in international conferences and dialogues.
• Monitor developments in global health policy and discourse.
• Liaise with key partners (e.g., WHO, EU, private sector, civil society).
• Support project leadership in strategic planning, impact monitoring, and knowledge management.
👤 Candidate Profile:
Required:
• Master’s degree in public health, medicine, economics, political or social sciences (with a health focus).
• Several years’ experience in international health or social protection cooperation.
• Expertise in UHC, health systems, and especially health financing.
• Strong communication and advisory skills in German and English (C1/C2).
• Ability to produce concise, policy-relevant documents and work under pressure.
Preferred:
• Practical experience with health financing in international contexts.
• Familiarity with GIZ and/or advising German ministries.
• Knowledge of related topics such as infectious and non-communicable diseases, mental health, and work in fragile contexts.
