Call for Abstracts - Workshop on Community Protection in Health Emergency Preparedness and Response (15 October 2025, Berlin)

Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to invite abstract submissions for the upcoming workshop on “Community Protection as a Core Element of Health Emergency Preparedness and Response – Advancing Evidence-Based Operational Concepts and Practice,” co-organized by the Centre for International Health Protection at the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) and the WHO Health Emergencies Programme – Community Protection and Resilience Unit. The event will take place on 15 October 2025 at the Robert Koch Institute in Berlin, Germany.

This one-day workshop will bring together researchers, practitioners, and policy actors to explore how community-centered approaches are being conceptualized, implemented, and evaluated in diverse contexts. We especially encourage submissions from individuals working closely with communities.

Submission Guidelines:

Abstracts should be no longer than 300 words, in English, and clearly describe the relevance of the contribution to the workshop themes.

Please include:

Title
Author(s) and affiliation(s)
Email address of the presenting author
Topic area (select from the list in the call)
Abstracts should be submitted by 15 July 2025 to ZIG2@rki.de.
Full details are included in the attached Call for Abstracts document.

Please feel free to forward this invitation to colleagues or networks who may be interested. We look forward to receiving your contributions and to an engaging exchange in October.
