With six different awards, the German Society for Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, Psychosomatics and Neurology (DGPPN) is committed to research funding, knowledge transfer, and destigmatization in the field of mental health. 🧠 1. Prize for Research into Mental Illnesses (€35,000)
Honors groundbreaking research and models advancing the understanding and treatment of mental illness.

🧭 2. Prize for Philosophy and Ethics in Psychiatry and Psychotherapy (€6,000)
Rewards outstanding scholarly work exploring ethical, anthropological, and philosophical questions in mental health.

🤝 3. Ulrike Fritze Lindenthal Anti-Stigma Prize (€20,000)
Recognizes impactful projects, institutions, or self-help groups working toward social integration and destigmatization of people with mental illness.

🎓 4. Doctoral Award – Hans Heimann Prize (€18,000 total)
Celebrates the top three dissertations in psychiatry and psychotherapy. Both doctoral candidates and their supervisors are honored.

🏥 5. Award for Nursing and Healthcare Professions in Psychiatry, Psychotherapy, and Psychosomatics (€5,000)
Highlights innovative and interdisciplinary projects improving psychiatric care in outpatient and inpatient settings.

📰 6. Media Prize for Science Journalism (€15,000)
Rewards excellent, accessible science journalism in German-language media that helps raise awareness about psychiatry, psychotherapy, and mental health.
