    The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) and the WHO Health Emergencies Programme – Community Protection and Resilience Unit are inviting abstract submissions for a one-day international workshop titled:
    📅 Community Protection as a Core Element of Health Emergency Preparedness and Response: Advancing Evidence-Based Operational Concepts and Practice

    This interdisciplinary event will convene researchers, practitioners, and policy actors to critically explore and share insights on how community-centered approaches are operationalized in health emergencies. Contributions from those working closely with communities are especially encouraged.
    🧠 Themes include:
    • Governance, trust, and accountability in community engagement
    • Community protection in fragile and humanitarian settings
    • Operationalizing early detection and response through community systems
    • Role of community health workers and evaluation of outcomes

    💬 Selected presenters are expected to attend in person. A post-event publication in a global health journal is planned.

    🌍 Travel support is available for up to 10 presenters from low- and middle-income countries.
    This is a unique opportunity to shape evidence-informed practice in public health emergency response through collaborative and grounded exchange.
