As many of us will be attending GHT 2026 during the first week of July, we would like to coordinate an informal get-together and dinnerfor members of the Global Health and Migration Community Group on Monday, 6 July, from 19:00 to 21:00.

The dinner will take place at a restaurant near the hotel where GHHG participants will be staying. The exact location will be confirmed closer to the date.

This invitation is being sent to gauge interest and help us plan. Please feel free to respond to the invitation if you would like to join and receive updates about the dinner details or reach out to one of the community co-managers on the platform. We will use the  responses to estimate the headcount for the restaurant reservation.

We hope this will be a nice opportunity to connect and catch up!

🌍 Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin is hosting a series of English-language Global Health teaching sessions on 4–5 June 2026, organised by the Working Group on Global and Planetary Health at the Institute of General Medicine. Open to all students and staff, the sessions will bring together experts, researchers, and practitioners to explore key challenges in global medicine and health equity. 🩺🌱

Topics include access to medicines and primary care in global health, the health impacts of climate change and intervention strategies, and healthcare for and with refugees. Featured speakers come from leading organisations including DNDi, the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research, Diakonie Deutschland, and Charité. 🤝🌎

The sessions will take place in person at Hörsaal 33, Philippstr. 11, Berlin, with no registration required. The organisers encourage participants to share the invitation widely with colleagues and students interested in global and planetary health. 📚✨

The last annual community theme of Global Health in Conflict Settings (2024/2025) was hosted by the Global Health and Migration Hub Community of Practice. Along this community annual theme, a Policy Brief, titled 'Strengthening Global Health in Conflict Settings: Strategic Insights for Germany and the European Union' and a table top simulation exercise were developed and we would like to present them during this event.

We are delighted to welcome Dr Saverio Bellizzi as our keynote speaker.
Dr Saverio Bellizzi is an Italian physician, public health expert, and researcher specialising in global health, humanitarian emergencies, and migration health. He has worked with several international organisations, including MSF and ICRC, and currently with the World Health Organization (WHO), in the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. His professional focus includes maternal and child health, infectious disease control, and health systems strengthening in crisis and post-crisis settings. Dr Bellizzi has also contributed to numerous peer reviewed publications on public health and epidemiology and continues to support global initiatives aimed at improving health outcomes among vulnerable populations, particularily refugees and migrants.
