π¬π Second Workshop on Causal Inference in Infectious Disease Epidemiology
The Infectious Disease Epidemiology Working Group and the Cross-Sectional Initiative on Causal Inference invite researchers to an in-person, two-day workshop from 22β23 January 2026 at the Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine (BNITM), Hamburg.
Building on the successful 2024 edition, this hands-on workshop will deepen participantsβ skills in causal inference methods for observational health data. The programme will introduce the three g-methods β parametric g-formula, marginal structural models (MSMs) with IPTW, and structural nested models β with practical exercises and data analysis in R.
Participants will also collaborate on designing a target trial protocol for complex infectious disease research questions (e.g., HPV vaccination, HIV treatment), and can benefit from office hours to discuss their own study designs and analytical challenges.
π©βπ« Lecturers: Uwe Siebert & LΓ‘ra Hallsson (UMIT TIROL, Austria)
π» Prerequisites: Basic CI knowledge / participation in the first workshop recommended
π Optional recap session on DAGs: 22.01.2026, 10:00β12:00
π° Free of charge | Sponsored by DGEpi & gmds
