To commemorate the 200th anniversary of the birth of Theodor Bilharz, the discoverer of Schistosoma haematobium, leading research institutions from Germany and Gabon have come together to host a landmark conference in Tübingen. The event is co-organized by the University Hospital Tübingen, Technical University Munich, Justus-Liebig University Gießen, and the Centre de Recherches Médicales de Lambaréné (CERMEL) in Gabon.
The meeting aims to bring together experts, researchers, and students from across the globe to exchange insights, present new research, and discuss future directions in the fight against schistosomiasis.
