🌍 The World Health Organization (WHO) is seeking a Technical Officer (P4) to lead data analysis, management and global reporting related to HIV, hepatitis and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) within its Health Promotion, Disease Prevention and Care Division in Geneva, Switzerland.

📊 Main responsibilities:
Conduct data analysis for WHO's global reporting on HIV, hepatitis and STIs and prepare report content including text, graphics, tables and webpages. Develop and manage interactive data dashboards to communicate findings, particularly on hepatitis and STIs. Produce customised datasets and analyses for WHO departments and external partners. Review and validate annual HIV data collected from Member States in collaboration with UNAIDS, as well as hepatitis and STI data submitted to WHO. Contribute to research, data quality assurance and other analytical activities supporting global health decision-making. 🌐📈

👤 Candidate profile:
Advanced university degree (Master’s or above) in health/health sciences with substantial data-analysis content, such as epidemiology or medical statistics, OR a first degree in a highly quantitative field such as mathematics, physics, economics or computer science. A PhD related to communicable diseases is desirable. Minimum 7 years of experience in collecting, validating, analysing and reporting health data, including at least 2 years developing web-based, data-driven reports using R, Shiny, R Markdown and ggplot2. Experience conducting research and publishing in peer-reviewed journals is required, as is experience working on projects related to developing countries and with governmental, academic and international institutions. 🌍

💻 Technical skills:
Excellent statistical data-analysis skills and advanced experience working with large datasets using R or Stata. Strong expertise in creating data-driven documents, visualisations, tables and webpages using R, Shiny, R Markdown and ggplot2. Knowledge of HTML, JavaScript and JavaScript-based graphics libraries is required. Experience with WHO/UN systems, data repositories, online data-collection platforms and global health reporting is desirable. Experience with HIV, TB, hepatitis or STI data would be an advantage.

Expert English required.
Intermediate French desirable.

💰 Remuneration & benefits:
Annual base salary starting at USD 86,027, plus a variable post adjustment currently USD 6,072/month for Geneva. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, allowances for dependent family members, home leave and an education grant for dependent children.
