🌍The World Health Organization (WHO) is seeking an Epidemiologist (P3) to join the Malaria & Neglected Tropical Diseases Department in Geneva, Switzerland, supporting data-driven surveillance, analysis and disease-control strategies.

📊 Main responsibilities:
Design and implement epidemiological and statistical analyses to inform malaria/NTD policies, guidance and strategies. Contribute to the Annual World Malaria Report, particularly burden-of-disease estimates and household survey analysis. Review and improve methodologies for malaria burden estimation. Prepare analytical outputs, methods and report sections for publication and review. Support guidance on using malaria and NTD data for planning, policy, monitoring and impact evaluation. Analyse disease stratification, intervention mixes and resource prioritisation at sub-national level. Provide technical assistance and capacity building to countries and partners. Build collaborations with WHO teams, UN agencies, academia and technical partners. Contribute to donor reporting and resource mobilisation for analytical activities.

👤 Candidate profile:
University degree in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Mathematics, Computer Science or a related field. Master’s degree or higher in Epidemiology, Biostatistics or a related field is desirable. At least 5 years’ professional experience working in malaria-endemic countries. Experience working with national malaria programmes and familiarity with the policy environment in Sub-Saharan Africa. Proven experience with survey and routine/programmatic data collection, management and analysis in malaria and/or NTDs. International-level experience and familiarity with electronic surveillance/data tools such as DHIS2, ODK and Tableau. Expert knowledge of epidemiology/biostatistics and at least one statistical/geospatial analysis programme, with strong proficiency in R. Strong database and health information systems expertise, particularly DHIS2. Ability to interpret spatial, temporal and mathematical modelling outputs and effectively assess AI tools and methods. Excellent writing, presentation, analytical and problem-solving skills.

Intermediate French and/or another UN official language desirable.

💰 Remuneration & benefits:
Annual base salary starting at USD 71,335, subject to applicable deductions. Current post adjustment: USD 5,011/month. 30 days annual leave.
