The World Bank Group, one of the largest global sources of funding and knowledge for developing countries, is seeking a Senior Health Specialist / Senior Economist to lead its Health Value Chains work area within the Global Health Directorate. The role is based in Washington, D.C., under an international recruitment, and offers the chance to shape how the Bank strengthens health product markets and supply chains across its client countries.

Position sought: A senior technical leader (grade GG) to head the Health Value Chains work area, providing intellectual and operational leadership on the markets, manufacturing, supply chains and logistics that underpin the delivery of quality health services.
Main tasks: Provide technical leadership on health value chains; develop operational tools and approaches; and support regional teams in strengthening value chains across pharmaceutical, vaccine and medical-product markets. The specialist will coordinate multidisciplinary technical teams, engage with governments, the private sector and development finance institutions, and help ensure the reliable delivery of quality health services.

Profile requirements: A master's degree in economics, supply chain management, public health or a related field; a minimum of eight years of relevant experience in health value chains; and a track record leading multidisciplinary technical teams. Candidates should bring knowledge of pharmaceutical, vaccine and medical-product markets, familiarity with local and regional manufacturing of health products, and experience in health supply chains and logistics, along with the ability to engage private sector and development finance institutions. Excellent technical writing and verbal communication skills are essential. Fluency in English is required; French or Spanish is an advantage.
