The Federal Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (BAuA) is recruiting a PhD Researcher (m/f/d) to join its research group on the prevention of work-related diseases in Berlin, starting 1 October 2026. The 36-month fixed-term position (with the possibility of a 12-month extension) focuses on the 15-year follow-up of the Gutenberg Health Study, investigating the relationship between working conditions and cardiometabolic health. 🩺📊

The successful candidate will conduct independent epidemiological research, complete a PhD within the project, analyse longitudinal health data, contribute to project coordination, publish research findings, present results at scientific conferences, and support the development of future research initiatives.

Applicants should hold a Master's degree (or equivalent) in Public Health, Epidemiology, Occupational or Life Sciences, Psychology, Sociology, Medicine, or a related field. Experience with statistical analysis (e.g. R, STATA or SPSS), knowledge of occupational health and disease prevention, German (C1) and English (B2) language skills, and an interest in pursuing a PhD are required. Experience with epidemiological or longitudinal studies and scientific publications is an advantage.
