🧬 Full-time, fixed-term research position (until 31 Aug 2028) based at Campus Charité Mitte, Berlin. Salary: E13 TVöD. Start date: as soon as possible.

Join a translational cardiometabolic research team at the Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, working on heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) and organ interactions (heart, liver, adipose tissue). The project is funded by the Deutsches Zentrum für Herz-Kreislauf-Forschung and embedded in leading international research networks.
🛠️ Key tasks
Conduct mechanistic studies on metabolism, lipotoxicity & interorgan signalling 🧪
Apply multi-omics approaches (transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics)
Test translational interventions (e.g. metabolic therapies, lifestyle models)
Identify signalling molecules affecting cardiac remodelling
Collaborate on bioinformatics and large cohort data (incl. UK Biobank) 💻
Contribute to biomarker discovery & precision medicine strategies
Present findings at international conferences and publish research 📊
👤 Profile requirements
PhD in molecular biology, cardiovascular biology, metabolism, bioinformatics or related field
At least one first-author publication in an international journal
Strong lab experience (cell culture, molecular assays, animal models)
Fluent English (spoken & written) 🌍
Ability to work in interdisciplinary, international teams
➕ Nice to have: experience in bioinformatics, mass spectrometry, NGS/epigenetics or metabolic phenotyping
