We’re sharing an exciting funding call from Wellcome (in partnership with the UK’s National Institute for Health and Care Research) aimed at supporting high-impact clinical trials in infectious diseases.

🔍 What’s this about?
This call supports transdisciplinary teams to conduct randomised controlled trials (RCTs) that optimise the use of existing (licensed) drugs and vaccines. The focus is on generating evidence that can directly influence policy, clinical guidelines, and practice, particularly in low- and middle-income countries.

🌍 Who should apply?

* Teams led from Africa, South Asia, or South-East Asia
* Mid-career or established researchers as lead applicants
* Collaborative teams (max 8 applicants) with ≥50% based in eligible regions
* Diverse, cross-disciplinary expertise strongly encouraged

💰 Funding & timeline

* £1M–£8M per award
* Duration: 3–5 years
* Deadline: 2 June 2026
* ~8–12 awards expected
