Position sought:
The Europa-Institut für Sozial- und Gesundheitsforschung at Alice Salomon University of Applied Sciences Berlin (ASH Berlin) is seeking a Project Coordinator / Scientific Research Associate (m/f/d) for the project “Family Health Promotion with a Focus on Single and Separated Parents”. The position starts as soon as possible and is part-time (20 hours/week), fixed-term until 31 December 2027.
🎯 Project background:
The project is funded under the “Healthy Living Environments” programme of the Association of Substitute Health Insurance Funds (vdek) and runs from 01 January 2026 to 31 December 2027. It is implemented together with Sozialdienst katholischer Frauen e.V. and focuses on two Berlin districts (Marzahn-Hellersdorf and Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf).
📌 Key tasks:
• Build and maintain local cooperation networks with key stakeholders in the district
• Identify needs and challenges of single and separated parents
• Literature reviews and selection of research instruments
• Social space and needs assessments
• Data collection (interviews, focus groups) and qualitative analysis
• Plan, coordinate and lead project activities
• Support training of community multipliers (e.g. neighbourhood mothers/fathers)
• Project presentations, teaching support and contribution to research concepts
👤 Profile requirements:
• Completed or near-completion Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Sciences, Social Sciences, Social Work or a comparable field
• Experience or strong interest in family health promotion
• Solid grounding in scientific methods, especially qualitative research and social space analysis
• Independent, structured and organised working style
• Strong German communication and writing skills
• Confident use of MS Office
• Team-oriented, reliable and professional demeanour
• Identification with New Public Health approaches
• Gender and diversity competence required
• Interest in further academic qualification (e.g. PhD) supported
