Senior Advisor, HIV Prevention & Care | The Global Fund | Application deadline: 11 January 2026

Position sought:
The Global Fund is seeking a Senior Advisor, HIV Prevention and Care (Grade GL E) to lead its global strategy and technical agenda on HIV prevention, while also providing senior advisory input across the full HIV care and treatment continuum. This is a full-time, defined-duration role until December 2028, based in Geneva.

Role purpose:
The Senior Advisor shapes the Global Fund’s vision, strategy and investments in HIV prevention and care, ensuring high-impact, equitable and innovative responses aligned with global targets and the Sustainable Development Goals.

📌 Key tasks & responsibilities:
• Lead the Global Fund’s HIV prevention strategy and guidance (technical, operational, M&E and coordination)
• Provide senior technical advice across HIV prevention, testing, treatment and care
• Support and oversee HIV prevention advisors and contribute to team management
• Advise Country Teams throughout the grant lifecycle (funding requests, grant-making, implementation and optimization)
• Drive innovation, scale-up and performance of HIV prevention investments, particularly in high-burden and rising-incidence countries
• Strengthen cross-departmental alignment (e.g. Community, Rights & Gender; RSSH; Grant Management)
• Represent the Global Fund in global HIV prevention fora and coordinate partnerships (WHO, UNAIDS, PEPFAR, BMGF, civil society)
• Contribute to catalytic investments, strategic initiatives and donor co-financing
• Lead internal learning and capacity-building on HIV prevention science and implementation

👤 Profile requirements:
• Advanced degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Social Sciences or related field
• Extensive experience in HIV prevention and care, including program design, implementation, research and policy
• Proven experience managing teams and working across complex, multi-partner environments
• Strong understanding of global HIV prevention systems and emerging tools (including digital health)
• Excellent analytical, communication and writing skills

⭐ Desirable:
• Medical degree or specialized postgraduate qualification in HIV
• 8–10+ years of senior international experience in HIV prevention and care
• Familiarity with the Global Fund’s policies, governance and partnership model
• Strong publication or technical proposal track record
• French and/or Portuguese language skills
