Executive Director (Access to Medicines & Health Products) | MSF Access | Application deadline: 15 January 2026

🌍 Position sought:
Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) is recruiting an Executive Director (ED) to lead MSF Access, the organisation’s global initiative dedicated to improving access to essential health products. The role is on-site, with a strong preference for placement in one of MSF Access’s five regional hubs (Rio de Janeiro, Dakar, Brussels, Nairobi or Kuala Lumpur).

🎯 Purpose of the role:
The Executive Director provides overall strategic, institutional and representational leadership of MSF Access, ensuring delivery of its mandate and vision to improve the accessibility, availability, affordability, appropriateness and quality of health products worldwide.

📌 Key responsibilities:
• Lead and implement the MSF Access strategy and vision
• Executive leadership of MSF Access, including management of the senior leadership team alongside the Deputy Executive Director
• Oversight of strategic planning, annual and multi-year workplans, budgets and risk management
• Accountability and reporting to the MSF Access Executive Board
• High-level external representation in global health, multilateral, governmental and private-sector fora
• Development and stewardship of strategic partnerships
• Oversight of governance, internal management, HR and administrative policies
• Representation of MSF Access within MSF’s Medical Operational (MedOps) platform
• Advising the MSF movement on access priorities and coordinating access initiatives globally

👤 Profile requirements:
• 15+ years of senior leadership experience in global health policy, advocacy, humanitarian affairs or institutional management
• Master’s or PhD in health sciences, public health, pharmacy, international relations, public policy or a related field
• Extensive experience in global health and access-to-medicines issues
• Deep understanding of MSF’s medical humanitarian mission and operations
• Proven strategic leadership and organisational management skills
• Strong experience in high-level stakeholder engagement and external representation
• Excellent communication and public speaking skills

💼 Contract & conditions:
• MSF office contract, minimum 3 years (extendable by a further 3 years)
