Call for Nominations | Gavi CSO Representative to WHO SAGE | Deadline: 17 October 2025
Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance, invites nominations for a Civil Society Constituency Representative to serve on the World Health Organization’s Strategic Advisory Group of Experts (SAGE) on Immunization, beginning 1 January 2026 for a non-renewable three-year term.
About the Role
SAGE is WHO’s principal advisory body on vaccines and immunization, guiding global vaccine policy, research, and implementation. The selected representative will bring the perspectives of civil society to SAGE discussions, ensuring strong engagement from non-governmental and community-based organizations in global immunization decision-making.
Key Profile Requirements
• Senior professional or scientist with expertise in areas such as:
o Infectious disease epidemiology, public health, immunology, or vaccinology
o Clinical practice (paediatrics, maternal health, infectious diseases, etc.)
o Vaccine regulation, safety, or R&D
o Immunization programme management, health systems, or health economics
• Strong international experience and technical credentials
• Proven engagement in immunization or health system strengthening
• Excellent written and spoken English (additional languages an asset)
• Organizational backing to dedicate at least 25% of working time to Gavi CSO activities
Eligibility
Applications must be submitted by organizations, not individuals. The nominated person must be authorized to represent their organization and supported to engage fully in SAGE activities.
