The Innovation Committee of the Federal Joint Committee (G-BA) is now accepting topic proposals for the 2026 funding year of the Innovation Fund. Proposals can focus on either new models of care or healthcare research.

🚀 Background:
Since 2016, the Innovation Fund has supported projects that pilot innovative approaches in statutory health insurance and generate evidence for improving everyday care. Both thematic and open-topic calls for proposals are issued.

🧠 Who Can Submit a Proposal?
Experts from:
Healthcare associations
Academia (research & teaching)
Patient organizations
❗ Note: Members of the Innovation Committee are not eligible to submit.

Each submission must clearly:
Justify the relevance of the topic
Describe the need for improvement in care

🎯 What Is Being Sought?
Practice-relevant topics to inform the 2026 funding announcements
Broad input to reflect diverse ideas (not adopted word-for-word, but thematically synthesized)
