It is a full-time, on-site programme for physicians who hold a medical degree (MD/MBBS or equivalent) from a medical school in any country and who are licensed to practise medicine in that country. Online participation is not possible. Registration is open until 31 January 2026.

  • The Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine is Germany's oldest institution of its kind, having been founded in 1900. The DTMH has been held here since 1905.
  • You will be taught by experienced scientific and clinical experts from all departments of the BNITM and from many external national and international institutions.

The Diploma Course will train physicians to work in countries of the tropics or subtropics. The course will enable participants to diagnose and treat diseases in travellers and migrants from the tropics and subtropics and to provide preventive medical travel-related advice.

The course focuses on the aetiology, epidemiology, clinical presentation, diagnosis and treatment of tropical diseases and clinical work in low-resource settings. It also covers travel medicine and principles of global health.

The 13th DNVF Forum on Health Services Research will take place on May 6, 2026, in Berlin, focusing on the pressing topic of mental health care amid rising demand. 🧠📈 Organized by the DNVF working group on Mental Health, the half-day event brings together leading experts to explore current trends, challenges, and innovations in the field.

The program covers key questions such as whether mental health disorders are increasing, how societal perceptions shape diagnosis (“concept creep”), and the specific needs of vulnerable populations, including people experiencing homelessness. 💬

Participants can also look forward to discussions on innovative care models, evidence-based guidelines, and cross-sector solutions aimed at improving mental health services. The forum concludes with a panel debate addressing gaps between research, implementation, and real-world care. 🤝

Registration is now open, and attendees are invited to join this important conversation shaping the future of mental health care.
