It is a full-time, on-site programme for physicians who hold a medical degree (MD/MBBS or equivalent) from a medical school in any country and who are licensed to practise medicine in that country. Online participation is not possible. Registration is open until 31 January 2026.

  • The Bernhard Nocht Institute for Tropical Medicine is Germany's oldest institution of its kind, having been founded in 1900. The DTMH has been held here since 1905.
  • You will be taught by experienced scientific and clinical experts from all departments of the BNITM and from many external national and international institutions.

The Diploma Course will train physicians to work in countries of the tropics or subtropics. The course will enable participants to diagnose and treat diseases in travellers and migrants from the tropics and subtropics and to provide preventive medical travel-related advice.

The course focuses on the aetiology, epidemiology, clinical presentation, diagnosis and treatment of tropical diseases and clinical work in low-resource settings. It also covers travel medicine and principles of global health.

The Nachwuchsnetzwerk Öffentliche Gesundheit (NÖG) invites early-career and experienced public health professionals to an interactive online exchange on “Advancing Health in All Policies at the municipal level” 🏙️🩺.

Taking place on April 14, 2026 (18:00–19:00 CET), the session builds on discussions from the Poverty and Health congress and explores how cross-sectoral collaboration for health promotion and prevention can be successfully initiated—even without formal decision-making power 💡.

The event will open with insights from Zsuzsanna Majzik, a social manager and public health expert from the City of Munich. She will share practical experiences from developing and implementing Munich’s cross-departmental health guideline, offering valuable lessons from her work supporting municipal processes.

In the second half, participants are invited to actively engage in a peer exchange 🤝: sharing experiences, discussing challenges, and identifying success factors for implementing Health in All Policies locally.

The event welcomes anyone who identifies as part of the public health “next generation” (regardless of age) or is interested in exchanging ideas and experiences.

✨ Expect a practical, inspiring, and interactive discussion on shaping healthier communities together.
