Charité and the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (PIK) invite students from Berlin universities to the interdisciplinary elective course “Planetary Health – Health of People and Planet in the Anthropocene.” This in-person winter term course explores the urgent health challenges posed by the ecological crisis and equips participants with the knowledge and tools to drive sustainable, just, and health-promoting transformations.

Led by Prof. Dr. Dr. Sabine Gabrysch and her interdisciplinary team, the course offers insights into the science, ethics, and policy of planetary health, including global case studies, expert discussions, and an excursion to PIK. Topics include climate justice, urban health, food systems, and the role of health systems in addressing planetary crises.

On Thursday (2pm-6pm, CET), we’ll dive into implementation challenges. On Friday (9am-1pm, CET), the focus shifts to ethics & policy. Each day includes a panel discussion with renowned speakers followed by interactive small-group work on practical challenges.
