The Global Health Academy will host an interactive two-day workshop for doctoral and postdoctoral researchers on the responsible conduct of science in global health research. Participants will engage in expert-led discussions and collaborative activities, including a session at the United Nations University on the UN Campus Bonn.

  Good scientific practice and ethics: respect, integrity, equity, sustainability, environmental impacts, and reflection on power and positionality.

  Human rights in global health: gender equality, intersectionality, and barriers to progress.

  Ideologies and context: the influence of historical and political ideologies such as Cold War legacies, authoritarianism, and global capitalism on research.

  
  

Insights from the workshop will help shape a self-paced online training program to be launched in 2026 via the new GLOHRA Training Platform.

The University of Bayreuth invites students, early-career researchers, and practitioners from medicine, environmental sciences, public health, social sciences, and related fields to a five-day, practice-oriented Summer School on Planetary Health. Participants will explore how to foster an environmentally and health-conscious society through interdisciplinary learning and hands-on project work.

The programme combines keynotes (e.g., climate-sensitive health counselling; co-benefits of sustainable diets; planetary health literacy; mindfulness & sustainability), communication workshops, group activities, and a regional site visit. A core element is developing an innovative, transformative project, supported by experts, with an oral presentation (e.g., poster, slide deck, video, flyer, website).

Taking place from September 22–24, 2025, in Berlin, this collaborative event is all about turning ideas into action to advance a more responsible research culture and practice.

The event centers around a set of ten projects that were chosen in a rigorous selection process. These projects cover topics such as piloting reproducibility checks, enhancing preclinical systematic reviews, and developing innovative, researcher-driven funding models, among many others.

During registration, participants choose the project they are most interested in supporting and join a small, focused team to help move it forward.
