Colleagues are invited to a thought-provoking ZIG Talk exploring how war and fragility impact epidemic preparedness and health systems in Eastern Congo. The session will shed light on the collapse of infection prevention and control (IPC) and surveillance structures in one of the world’s most challenging humanitarian contexts.
🎙️ Speaker: Dr. Joyeux Bwami Mpakanyi, Physician at Panzi Hospital (DR Congo) and Chief Medical Officer of Ibanda Health Zone, Bukavu. With extensive experience in public health, epidemiology, and humanitarian medicine, Dr. Mpakanyi will share insights from years of frontline work and research on health system resilience in fragile settings.
