Mohammed Noman

Hello everyone, I am Mohammed Noman, an Associate Researcher at the Venom Research Centre, Bangladesh. It is a pleasure to be part of this community.

My work focuses on medically important snakes of Bangladesh, including venom and snakebite research, snake biology, ecology and distribution, as well as GIS and spatial approaches to better understand species distribution and related ecological patterns.

I am particularly interested in exchanging knowledge and experiences on snakebite envenoming, venom research, snake ecology, One Health, and the use of spatial approaches in snakebite-related research. I look forward to learning from the work shared here and connecting with researchers and practitioners for future collaboration.

I am pleased to join the Global Health Hub – Collaboration Space and connect with researchers and professionals working across global health and One Health.

Working with snakes and snakebite research in Bangladesh has given me the opportunity to explore the close connections between human health, wildlife, and the environment. At the Venom Research Centre, Bangladesh, I am involved in research on medically important snakes, their biology and ecology, venom, and snakebite.

I am also particularly interested in the use of GIS and spatial approaches in snake ecology and distribution research. Mapping species occurrence and exploring spatial and environmental patterns can help us better understand where snakes occur, how their distributions may change, and where human–snake interactions and snakebite risks may be important.

One of the things I value most in research is the opportunity to learn from people working across different disciplines. Snakebite is not only a medical challenge—it is closely connected with ecology, biodiversity, human–wildlife interactions, environmental conditions, and the communities that live alongside snakes.

I hope this platform will provide opportunities to exchange experiences and ideas, learn from researchers and practitioners from different countries, and develop meaningful collaborations around snakebite, venom science, One Health, biodiversity, conservation, and spatial research.
