One of the impact goals for our Hub Communities is to facilitate the exchange of knowledge on topics chosen by our Hub members and to enable peer-to-peer learning within different sectors.

We would like to highlight the achievements of our Hub Community on Global Urban Health, which recently completed a 12-week lecture series with a high satisfaction rate of 91.1% from 45 respondents. Participants reported gaining valuable insights applicable to their daily work, with 24.4% benefiting "a lot" and 68.9% benefiting "to some extent". Each session attracted 50-80 attendees and featured perspectives from both international and local speakers. After the summer break, the Hub Community will work to consolidate the expertise gathered from the event series into a policy brief. To contribute, please contact our Community Manager Dr. Timo Falkenberg and Dr. Dennis Schmiege.

Thanks again to the Community Manager Dennis Schmiege & Timo Falkenberg for their great engagement and community work!

The Global Urban Health Community is organizing a lecture series on "City Diagnoses" to operationalize the previously published policy brief of urban health. Each week an expert from academia or practice is presenting their work on integrated assessments of urban health, as well as the challenges and opportunities arising.

Global urbanization is an ongoing megatrend. Cities are places that offer both opportunities and challenges for human health, and their dynamic development makes them “spaces of opportunity” for different futures. “City diagnoses” are intended as a tool to help identity a city’s health opportunities and challenges, develop a shared vision of the future for the local context, and create the basis for health-promoting action for a healthy future of cities. Together with interested parties and invited practitioners, the Global Urban Health Community Lecture Series will explore the concept of “city diagnoses” from different perspectives.

In today's lecture Jeffrey Butler of the TU Dresden and Co-Speaker of the DGSMP "Gesundheitsberichtserstattung" will give insights into the fine scale health reporting at the community level. The lecture will be in German.
