From May 20 to 23, 2025, the Geneva Health Forum  (GHF) will take place during the World Health Assembly (WHA). As the WHA convenes a political audience, the GHF provides a unique platform conveying the perspectives of scientists, healthcare professionals and field actors on the main challenges and opportunities for global health.

True to its mission , the GHF Conference will:

Amplify Voices from the Field: We champion inclusivity by offering visibility to those on the frontlines of healthcare. Actors from LMICs will be given a privileged platform to share their experiences.

Create a Neutral Forum for Debate: Our commitment to impartiality ensures that the Geneva Health Forum serves as a neutral ground for informed and constructive discourse.

Foster Multidisciplinary Collaboration: We facilitate dialogue and collaboration among diverse stakeholders, spanning the political, academic, private sector, and civil society spheres.

Leverage Practical Experience: Our initiatives are grounded in real-world practicality, drawing upon invaluable experience gained from on-the-ground projects.

Across our programme sessions, we will showcase community-driven successes, practical solutions, and scalable approaches that can inspire action worldwide. We strongly believe that sustained collaboration and cross-sector engagement can drive meaningful, lasting impact.
Together, let’s build the health of tomorrow—one connection, one solution, and one step at a time!

The risks of new pandemic threats are compounding. Zoonotic spillover and uncontained outbreaks are well-known risks that are not yet well enough addressed. Today, focus must also turn to biosecurity and biosafety risks. Beyond naturally occurring infectious disease threats, the risks of a manmade pandemic — by accident or by design — must be mitigated.

Pandemic Action Network (PAN) and The Independent Panel for Pandemic Preparedness and Response will convene a public event, Biosecurity: A Priority in the Era of Pandemics and AI, on the sidelines of WHA78 to discuss opportunities and risks in our evolving global health, technological, and geopolitical landscape, and offer concrete next steps to prioritise biosecurity and biosafety efforts needed to keep the world safe and secure.

Speakers include:

  • The Right Honourable Helen Clark, former PM of New Zealand, Member of The Elders and Co-Chair Independent Panel for Pandemic Preparedness & Response
  • Priya Basu, Executive Head, Pandemic Fund
  • Daniel Feakes, Chief of the Implementation Support Unit, Biological Weapons Convention
  • Richard Hatchett, CEO, Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI)
  • Raj Panjabi, Senior Partner, Preemptive Health and Medicine Initiative, Flagship Pioneering
  • Eloise Todd, Co-Founder and Executive Director, Pandemic Action Network

When: Wednesday 21 May, 2025 | 07.00-09.00 CET

Where: Hôtel Royal Genève (Rue de Lausanne 41, 1201 Genève)
