On Tuesday, 3 March 2026 (9:30–11:30 am) in Berlin, the Global Perspectives Circle will convene a timely breakfast dialogue titled “Breaking Point or Turning Point: What Role Can Europe Play in Africa's Reproductive Health Future?” Following the abrupt closure of USAID programs and tightening European development budgets, last year marked a significant shift in global reproductive health funding. Yet leaders interviewed in the series “Reproductive Health at a Turning Point” highlighted that this disruption may also be catalyzing long-overdue change — accelerating African-led approaches grounded in sustainable financing, regional manufacturing, and smarter cross-sector partnerships. Moderated by senior global health leader Katri Bertram, the discussion will feature voices including Dr. Victoria Gamba (Independent Consultant, Obstetrician Gynecologist and Implementation Scientist) and Rosebell Kagumire (Editor of AfricanFeminism.com & Co-Founder of AfIP Collective). Together, participants from politics, civil society, and the private sector will explore key questions: • Where should Germany and the EU co-invest strategically? Held just ahead of International Women’s Day, this dialogue will present key findings from the interview series and connect African, German, and European stakeholders to identify concrete collaboration opportunities that advance sustainable, African-led solutions. 🤝✨ To attend, please contact Sabrina Rupprecht at s.rupprecht@globalperspectives.org. |
