On 3 March 2026 (15:00 CET), this IAS–IAVI Timely Topic Webinar will bring together global stakeholders to discuss the future of HIV vaccine research in a shifting funding landscape. Despite significant progress in HIV prevention and treatment, persistent inequities, emerging drug resistance, and recent global funding cuts continue to threaten advances — underscoring the urgent need for an effective HIV vaccine. The session will explore how innovative multi-stakeholder partnerships — spanning governments, funders, African research institutions, and communities — can sustain and strengthen HIV vaccine R&D. Speakers will highlight successful partnership models, key funding and governance lessons, and strategies to advance African-led leadership and long-term investment in the next generation of HIV vaccines. Participants will also learn how collaborative approaches can transform current challenges into opportunities for resilient, equitable research systems. 🤝 |
