The Centre for Planetary Health Policy (CPHP) invites participants to the 17th edition of the Planetary Health Dialogues on April 10, 2025 (online), focusing on the health impacts of biodiversity loss and the transition from global agreements to local solutions. As biodiversity declines at an alarming rate, the protection of ecosystems remains crucial for both human health and sustainable development. Following the 2024 report by the Intergovernmental Science-Policy Platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES), this session will examine key recommendations for integrating health into biodiversity policies. Speakers include Dr. Kim Grützmacher (Museum für Naturkunde/Leibniz Institute for Evolution and Biodiversity Science), Barbara Engels (Federal Agency for Nature Conservation), and Prof. Dr. Claudia Hornberg (Chair of the German Advisory Council on the Environment). Discussions will explore how biodiversity strategies in Germany address the interconnection between ecosystems and public health. Moderated by Nicole Stauf (CPHP), this webinar is part of a monthly series featuring scientists, policymakers, and civil society actors, fostering dialogue on planetary health and justice within ecological limits. 📅 Date: April 10, 2025 |
