The German Federal Ministry of Health is seeking a Vice President for the Robert Koch Institute in Berlin. This is a senior leadership role with high national and international visibility, supporting the instituteās president and shaping public health strategy.
Key tasks:
* Act as permanent deputy to the RKI President (scientific and administrative)
* Lead and represent the institute in national and international bodies
* Advise the Federal Ministry of Health and collaborate with authorities and organizations
* Oversee strategic, scientific, and administrative processes
* Contribute to the instituteās long-term development and crisis management
* Take on key cross-cutting scientific, organizational, and communication responsibilities
Profile requirements:
* Degree and PhD in medicine, public health, psychology, or related fields
* Strong leadership experience in large organizations
* Expertise in public health, epidemiology, or health research
* Experience in crisis management, strategy development, and science communication
* Languages: German (C2), English (C1), French desirable
* Additional qualifications (e.g. habilitation, medical specialization) are an advantage
* Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
Additional requirements:
* Willingness to travel internationally (including short notice)
* Eligibility for extended security clearance
* International experience and public sector background are beneficial
