The Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities (BBAW) is seeking a scientific coordinator for its interdisciplinary working group “Targeted Prevention – Innovative Methods and Measures for Preventing Diseases”. The project focuses on developing and evaluating innovative, risk-stratified prevention strategies to reduce chronic diseases and extend healthy life expectancy.
🔬 project focus
The working group develops evidence-based prevention strategies combining medicine, data science, social sciences, law, and ethics. It explores innovative approaches such as real-world labs, digital prevention tools, and new communication formats to improve acceptance of preventive healthcare and support a prevention-oriented transformation of the health system.
🧩 key tasks
* Conduct independent research within the scope of the working group
* Support the group leadership in preparing, organizing, and following up on meetings
* Write reports, briefing papers, and working documents
* Contribute to the editing and publication of academic outputs
* Plan and organize events (workshops, academy lectures, real-world labs)
* Maintain communication with working group members and partner institutions
🎓 profile requirements
* Completed university degree in a relevant field (e.g., Medicine, Data Science, Social Sciences, Public Health, Health Sciences, Psychology)
* Record of scientific publications in a relevant research area
* Knowledge of current research and debates in targeted prevention, especially innovative technologies and digital health literacy
* Experience coordinating interdisciplinary research groups
* Strong organizational, teamwork, and communication skills
* Fluent English (written and spoken)
