Group Leader (m/f/d) – Global Child Health | University Hospital Bonn | Open until filled
The Institute for Hygiene and Public Health at University Hospital Bonn is seeking a Group Leader (m/f/d) for its Section of Global Child Health. The part-time position (7.7–23.1 hours/week) is available as soon as possible and initially limited to **three years** (TV-L EG 13).
🔬 About the Role
The successful candidate will lead one of three working groups focusing on **implementation and intervention research** in child and adolescent health. Research areas include:
* Low-cost health technologies (e.g., ultrasound)
* Chronic childhood conditions, including inborn and infectious diseases
* Health systems research aligned with a One Health approach
The role emphasizes identifying context-specific solutions and promoting the uptake of research findings to improve healthcare delivery — particularly in resource-limited settings in sub-Saharan Africa, especially Malawi. The section operates as a tandem professorship with the University of Malawi (Lilongwe).
👤 Profile
* Expertise in intervention and health systems research
* Experience in global child and adolescent health
* Willingness to relocate to Germany temporarily (if currently abroad)
* German tax ID required for employment
💡 An increase in working hours through third-party funding may be possible, subject to feasibility and interest.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape a newly established Global Child Health section and contribute to impactful, internationally collaborative research.
