🌍 The World Health Organization (WHO) is seeking a Scientist (P4) to provide scientific and policy leadership on cardiometabolic nutrition (CMN), supporting global efforts to prevent and manage diet-related noncommunicable diseases, including obesity, from Geneva, Switzerland.

🫀 Main responsibilities:
Provide scientific, technical and policy advice to Member States on cardiometabolic nutrition, including screening and lifestyle interventions alongside medical treatment for diet-related cardiometabolic diseases. Work with WHO Regional Advisors and partners to develop scientific guidance, tools, policies and programmes for improving CMN. Coordinate advocacy materials, training curricula and implementation tools to expand the coverage and quality of nutrition interventions globally. Monitor and report on CMN policy adoption, programme implementation and obesity rates. Build peer-to-peer networks through communities of practice and support capacity-building initiatives, including training for primary-care professionals and WHO Academy courses. 🤝📊

👤 Candidate profile:
Advanced university degree (Master’s level) in nutrition, internal medicine, public health, epidemiology or a related field required. Additional postgraduate training in public health or public policy is desirable. Minimum 7 years of experience in public health nutrition, epidemiology or medical practice, focused on noncommunicable diseases, including at least 4 years of international experience. Proven experience developing scientific documents and policy briefs is essential. Experience translating scientific evidence into policy, developing national strategies and policies at country level, or working with WHO/UN agencies is an advantage.

🧠 Key expertise:
Strong knowledge of the biology and epidemiology of cardiometabolic nutrition and public health approaches to diet-related NCDs, including obesity. Excellent communication, collaboration and partnership-building skills are important, along with initiative, tact and the ability to work effectively across diverse cultural and professional environments.

Expert English required.
Intermediate French desirable.

💰 Remuneration & benefits:
Annual base salary starting at USD 86,027, plus a variable post adjustment currently USD 6,043/month for Geneva. Benefits include 30 days annual leave, allowances for dependent family members, home leave and an education grant for dependent children.
