🌍 The World Health Organization (WHO) is seeking a Communicable Disease Specialist for a 2-year, full-time fixed-term appointment based in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea (Grade P4).

🦠 The position focuses on strengthening national communicable disease programmes, particularly tuberculosis (including drug-resistant TB), HIV/AIDS, STIs and viral hepatitis. Key responsibilities include providing technical advice to the National Department of Health, developing strategies and action plans, supporting disease surveillance and information systems, analysing outbreak data, strengthening primary healthcare and community outreach, contributing to training and capacity building, and coordinating with national and international partners.

🎓 Candidates should hold a Master’s degree in Medicine or Public Health and have at least 7 years of progressively responsible professional experience, including relevant international experience in communicable disease prevention, surveillance and care. Experience with Global Fund proposals and their implementation, monitoring and evaluation is desirable.

💡 Strong technical, analytical, communication, partnership-building and team leadership skills are required, along with expert-level English and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
