The Chair of Medical Sociology and Psychobiology at the University of Potsdam is seeking an Academic Research Associate to contribute to cutting-edge translational health research focused on stress-related chronic diseases and personalised prevention and intervention strategies.

🔍 Key Responsibilities:
• Design and conduct research projects and publish empirical studies
• Analyse complex longitudinal and multimodal datasets
• Support grant applications and contribute to the strategic development of the research area
• Supervise students and early-career researchers
• Participate in interdisciplinary research at the interface of medicine, psychology, sports science, and health sciences

🧬 Research Focus:
• Stress-related chronic diseases (musculoskeletal, metabolic, and mental health conditions)
• Psychoneuroendocrinology and stress physiology
• Personalised diagnostics, risk prediction, and prevention
• Digital health technologies and translation into healthcare practice

✅ Required Profile:
• Master's degree (or equivalent) in Medicine, Psychology, Sport Science, or a related discipline
• Ideally, completed PhD
• Strong expertise in psychoneuroendocrinology and/or stress physiology
• Experience in data management and statistical analysis (e.g. R, Python, SPSS)
• Interest in interdisciplinary and translational research
• Excellent English language skills (written and spoken)
• High level of initiative, conceptual thinking, and motivation to develop innovative research projects
