The German Alliance on Climate Change and Health (KLUG) is seeking a Research Associate to work on heat protection and climate adaptation. The position is available immediately, with a workload of 75–100%, initially fixed-term for two years, with a realistic option for extension.
🔬 Key responsibilities include:
• Project management in transdisciplinary research and implementation
• Designing and delivering events for knowledge exchange, networking, and practice-oriented learning
• Initiating and supporting Heat Action Alliances at federal, state, and municipal levels
• Coordinating and delivering advisory and training concepts for stakeholders in heat protection
• Developing policy briefs and scientific publications
• Designing and implementing heat protection measures
• Maintaining networks with funders, partners, and stakeholders
• Contributing to public communication and media work
• Supporting strategic planning and identifying windows of opportunity
👤 Profile sought:
• Strong understanding of Planetary Health and the health impacts of the climate crisis
• Experience in project management and supporting transformative change processes
• Skills in facilitating workshops and multi-stakeholder processes
• Strong networking and collaboration skills across research, health, civil society, and policy
• Experience in quantitative and qualitative data analysis and scientific writing
• Self-organised, motivated, and comfortable working in agile, interdisciplinary teams
📍 Location: Germany (mobile work possible)
🕒 Working time: 75–100%
📄 Contract: Fixed-term (2 years, with option to extend)
💰 Salary: Based on TVöD
