π Job Opportunity β Research Associate at the German Africa Foundation (DAS)
The German Africa Foundation (DAS) is seeking a Scientific Associate (full-time, 39h/week) starting December 1, 2025, or as soon as possible. DAS works to strengthen relations between Africa, Germany, and Europe, with a strong focus on shaping parliamentary and public debates on Africa policy in Germany.
Key Responsibilities:
β’ Design, prepare, and implement events and publications on Africa policy.
β’ Support DAS strategic planning and expand the Africa Information Portal.
β’ Deliver expert lectures, moderate discussions, and engage in policy networks.
β’ Represent DAS at diplomatic, political, and economic events.
β’ Handle related administrative and organizational tasks.
Profile Requirements:
β’ Relevant university degree and proven professional experience.
β’ Strong knowledge of German foreign and development policy.
β’ Excellent German and English; very good French (B2).
β’ Regional expertise in North and/or Central Africa desirable.
β’ Intercultural competence, strong organizational and communication skills.
β’ Self-driven, responsible, and professional in representation.
β’ Experience abroad in Africa and knowledge of funding/procurement law are advantages.
