Professor of Evidence-Based Public Health Service | Julius-Maximilians-University Würzburg & Bavarian Health and Food Safety Authority (LGL) | Deadline: 12 October 2025
The Medical Faculty of Julius-Maximilians-University Würzburg (JMU) and the Bavarian Health and Food Safety Authority (LGL) invite applications for a Professorship in Evidence-Based Public Health Service, to be filled immediately in a permanent civil servant or employee position (A15/E15).
Role & Responsibilities
• Bridge research and practice in evidence-based public health at JMU and LGL.
• Lead the Health Department of the Academy for Health and Food Safety (AGL) in Bad Kissingen.
• Conduct and disseminate innovative research (public health, epidemiology, digitalisation in public health, routine data analysis).
• Strengthen teaching in medicine, dentistry, health sciences, and translational medicine.
• Supervise students, doctoral candidates, and collaborate with health authorities.
• Initiate joint projects between LGL, health offices, and JMU/University Hospital Würzburg.
Profile Requirements
• Completed degree in medicine, public health, epidemiology or equivalent.
• Proven teaching ability and scientific qualifications (PhD required, additional achievements as per BayHIG).
• Leadership experience or willingness to qualify for leadership.
• Expertise in adult education, strong organisational and communication skills.
• Commitment to interdisciplinary collaboration and willingness to travel.
• Appointment to civil service possible only up to age 45 (exceptions possible).
Conditions
• Salary: A15 (civil service) or E15 TV-L (employment contract).
• Permanent position with opportunities for research, teaching, and leadership.
