🔎 About the Role:
Lead the Epidemiology working group at the MRI’s Institute for Child Nutrition. Focus on research around early influences on nutrition-related diseases, prevention of obesity and related disorders (like type 2 diabetes), and analysis of large cohort studies. Responsibilities include planning and coordinating epidemiological projects, managing funding applications, supervising staff, conducting data analysis, publishing scientific papers, and developing national and international collaborations.

🎯 Key Tasks:
• Plan, conduct, and coordinate epidemiological research projects
• Supervise team members and manage research funding
• Perform statistical data analysis and interpret results
• Publish and present scientific findings
• Build scientific networks and contribute to policy advice
👤 Profile Requirements:
• Degree in Epidemiology, Nutritional Science, Human Medicine, or related fields
• Strong scientific expertise and publication record in international journals
• Experience with human studies and cohort data
• Proficient in statistical software (e.g., SPSS, R)
• Excellent communication skills in German and English
• Preferably a PhD and experience securing third-party funding
• Leadership experience and ability to foster interdisciplinary teamwork
• Knowledge in obesity or nutrition-related diseases is a plus
