Researchers, practitioners, and policymakers from diverse disciplines—including public health, social medicine, political and cultural sciences, and local governance—are invited to share insights, best-practice examples, and work-in-progress projects. The program encourages interdisciplinary dialogue on policy implementation, structural interventions, and the translation of research into practice. 🤝🏥

Abstract submissions are open until June 30, 2026, with selected presenters giving 8–10 minute talks. The conference offers a unique opportunity to compare cross-border Public Health practices, learn from each other, and co-develop strategies to strengthen health promotion in the DACH region. 📌✨

 🌍🌱 On November 19–20, 2026, Magdeburg-Stendal University of Applied Sciences will host a conference focused on “Climate, Justice and Health”. The event will bring together researchers, practitioners, students, and professionals working at the intersection of public health, social equity, and climate change.

The conference will explore the health impacts of climate change and their unequal effects on vulnerable populations, including socially disadvantaged groups, older adults, people with chronic illnesses, and workers in physically demanding outdoor occupations. Discussions will also address how research findings can be effectively translated into health promotion practice and prevention strategies.

Participants can expect presentations and exchanges on climate-related health risks, project evaluation, community engagement, and communication strategies aimed at building healthier and more resilient societies. ♻️🤝

The 9th Community Health Conference will take place on November 19–20, 2026, at the Gesundheitscampus Bochum. 🏥🌍

The conference focuses on creating conditions and implementing measures to ensure comprehensive health participation for all. It highlights health promotion, prevention, and care initiatives from diverse perspectives, emphasizing the needs of specific communities. 💡🤝

Through interdisciplinary, transdisciplinary, and participatory approaches, the event explores ways to reduce social and health inequalities, combat discrimination, and remove barriers to health. The Fondation Mérieux is hosting the 7th Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) Course: A One Health Challenge from November 9–13, 2026 at the Les Pensières Center for Global Health 🇫🇷.

This intensive residential training, organized in collaboration with Université Paris Cité, tackles the growing global threat of antimicrobial resistance 🦠—a major challenge to modern medicine. Guided by the World Health Organization’s Global Action Plan, the course focuses on translating strategy into real-world action through a One Health approach 🌍.

Over five days, participants will explore key themes including awareness, surveillance, multi-sector interventions, responsible antimicrobial use, and the economic and social dimensions of AMR. The program is designed primarily for professionals from low- and middle-income countries, aiming to strengthen decision-making, foster collaboration, and build sustainable global networks 🤝.

The Robert Koch Institute (RKI) offers the English-language course “Infectious Disease Epidemiology”, providing participants with a theoretical and practical introduction to the aims and responsibilities of infectious disease epidemiology and its links to laboratory and clinical practice. 🔬

Through lectures and interactive exercises, participants will explore key topics including pathogen transmission dynamics, disease surveillance, prevention and control strategies, epidemiological research, study design, and statistical analysis. The course uses a range of infectious diseases—including sexually transmitted, vaccine-preventable, hospital-acquired, respiratory, and gastrointestinal infections—as practical examples.

🎓 The course is open free of charge to undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as guests. Participants who attend regularly will receive a certificate of attendance.

The GLOHRA Scientific Workshop will bring together researchers and health professionals to examine the often-overlooked perspectives and experiences of Eastern Europe in global health debates. The workshop will explore the sociopolitical factors behind the European East–West health divide, including migration, resource inequalities, healthcare disparities, and the region’s connections with societies in the Global South. 🤝

The two-day event will also discuss approaches to epistemic justice and addressing persistent health inequities, while strengthening interdisciplinary and transregional networks working on health in Eastern Europe. 🌱📚

🎬 When it’s time to deliver, can health systems too?

The event will consist of two parts: 

Part 1 | 11:00–12:15 – Panel & Political Dialogue 

A high-level discussion bringing together perspectives from midwifery, politics, global health and practice. Together, we will explore what health systems need to provide safe, dignified and quality care – and how maternal health, WASH, Universal Health Coverage and resilient health systems can be better connected. 

Evidence from WaterAid’s recent Born Without Water study will bring particular attention to a fundamental but too often overlooked part of quality healthcare: safe water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) in healthcare facilities. 

Part 2 | 12:20–14:00 – Film Screening of WISE WOMEN 

For those who would like to stay, we will screen Nicole Scherg’s documentary WISE WOMEN, which follows five midwives working in Ethiopia, Morocco, Nepal, Austria and Brazil. Director Nicole Scherg will join us in person.
